About Christie
Hi, I'm Christie.
I believe your story has purpose because God is still writing it.
I'm Christie Hatten, founder of My Story in HIStory, mother, educator, Certified Christian Life Coach, Bible study facilitator, and encourager. My heart is to help people discover who they are in Christ, grow deeper in their relationship with God, and recognize His purpose — even in the chapters of life they never would have chosen for themselves.
My Journey
My Story
My Story in HIStory was not simply created as a business or a website. It grew from my own journey with God.
My life has included seasons of success and accomplishment — as well as seasons of disappointment, brokenness, discouragement, waiting, uncertainty, and questioning my identity and purpose.
There were times when I allowed circumstances, accomplishments, relationships, people's opinions, mistakes, disappointments, and external labels to influence how I saw myself.
But God continued pursuing me.
Through my relationship with Him and the truth of His Word, I began learning that my identity was never supposed to be rooted in what I accomplished, what happened to me, what people thought about me, or even what I thought about myself.
My true identity was found in Christ.
God began showing me that even the chapters I would have preferred to erase were not wasted. He could use every part of my story to draw me closer to Him, reveal His character, strengthen my faith, and prepare me to encourage others.
That realization became part of the foundation for My Story in HIStory.
God doesn't waste our stories.
He can redeem what hurt us, teach us through what challenged us, restore what was broken, and use our experiences for His glory.
The Name
Why "My Story in HIStory"?
Every person has a story.
Our stories contain victories and disappointments, joy and pain, beginnings and endings, prayers that were answered quickly and prayers that required us to wait.
But our story is not the whole story.
When we surrender our lives to God, we begin to recognize that our individual stories are being woven into something much greater — His Story.
That is the heart behind My Story in HIStory.
My Story + His Purpose = HIStory
My prayer is that this ministry helps you look at your own story differently — not simply through the lens of what happened to you, but through the lens of what God may be doing through you.
Isaiah 45:3
Finding Treasures in the Darkness
"I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name."Isaiah 45:3 (NIV)
Some of the deepest lessons God has taught me came through difficult and dark seasons. In those places — the ones I never would have chosen — He revealed things I could not have discovered any other way.
Discovering God's faithfulness
Learning to hear His voice
Understanding your identity
Developing compassion for others
Finding strength you didn't know God had placed within you
Discovering purpose within your pain
Becoming equipped to encourage someone walking through a similar season
The darkness does not get the final word. God does.

A Little More About Christie
I am a Certified Christian Life Coach, Bible study facilitator and teacher, and an educator with 26 years of experience. I am also the proud mother of two adult children and the founder of My Story in HIStory.
Both motherhood and my 26 years in education have helped shape the woman, teacher, encourager, and coach I am today.
As an educator, I have spent more than two decades helping others learn, grow, recognize their potential, overcome challenges, and move toward greater understanding. That experience naturally influences the way I approach ministry and Christian Life Coaching. I love helping people slow down, reflect, ask meaningful questions, make connections, and apply what they discover to their everyday lives.
As the mother of two adult children, I have also experienced the many seasons that come with motherhood — loving, teaching, encouraging, releasing, praying, trusting God, and watching the people He has entrusted to me develop their own stories.
Through every role and season, God has continued to teach me that our titles may describe parts of what we do, but they do not define who we are.
My identity is first and foremost found in Christ. That truth is at the heart of the work I do today.
My approach to Christian Life Coaching is faith-centered and Spirit-led, combining thoughtful questions, biblical truth, reflection, practical action, accountability, encouragement, and prayer.
Whether I am teaching, facilitating a Bible study, writing a devotional, creating a resource, coaching, or simply encouraging someone through a difficult chapter, my desire is the same: to help people see themselves through God's eyes, recognize His presence in their story, and confidently walk toward the purpose He has for their lives.
My Approach
How I Walk Alongside You
I'm not here to tell you what your story should look like. My role is to create opportunities for you to slow down, seek God, examine what you believe, challenge thoughts that don't align with His truth, recognize what He may be revealing, and take intentional steps forward.
Identity
Discover who God says you are.
Truth
Replace false beliefs with the truth of God's Word.
Purpose
Recognize how God has uniquely created and equipped you.
Action
Move forward with faith, clarity, and intentionality.
Scripture Foundation
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."Jeremiah 29:11–13 (NLT)
God's promise is not simply that He has plans for us. He invites us to seek Him with our whole hearts.
My Story in HIStory should always point people beyond discovering their purpose to discovering a deeper relationship with the God who gives them purpose.
